Murmurations is itself an experiment in emergence and collective transformation. It focuses on achieving impact in education systems in a way to create more equity. Learn more from this video.
Murmurations has come into existence through research activities made possible in part by a grant from the National Science Foundation* (EEC1025265).
Murmurations affords publication of artifacts of importance to those involved in systems of education. Our dialectic journal aims to allow open access to insights and information that are often not visible in typical peer review processes; in doing so our goal is to see how we participate in dynamics that often contribute to problems within the current system of education. This video explains the publication process.
We seek grounded works that inform beneficent changes in educational systems or addresses systemic issues in education. Murmurations accepts original works that are underrepresented in academic publishing.
The intent of the publication is to initiate, extend or sustain an ongoing dialogue around systemic issues in education. Our belief is that reflective dialogue illuminates what is normally hidden; when aware, we can conciously choose alternatives that foster social equity.
persist.ed is a non-profit organization that emerged from a group of learned citizens who believe in the power of education to transform lives and desire to live in a world where all can thrive.
